Frequently Asked Questions:
How long is a session?
An average family session takes about 60-90 minutes and will include 35-50 edited images.
Mini-sessions are 30-40 minutes and includes 20 edited images.
How much does it cost?
Your photo investment session is dependent upon your specific needs:
$175 for a 30-40 minute mini-session includes 20 edited images
$200 one hour session for 1-2 children (3 months and older) includes 30 edited images. Add $25 for each addition family member included in the shoot.
$250 one hour session couples & engagement sessions includes 30 edited images
$275 one hour session for 3-5 children or one family includes 40 edited images
$325 one hour session for families larger than 5 children includes 40 edited images
Varying prices for family gatherings such as reunions, or other events of your choosing.
Sport teams pictures are also available
$250-$350 senior portraits (see description below)

DVD of edited images may be purchased along with session:
$30 DVD of the 20- 40 edited images with a print authorization letter from Spearfish Photo so you can print as many you would like.
You may also order prints, as will be discussed with photographer.
$175-$350 Senior Portraits:
Price depends on location and number of clothing changes.
$175 mini senior session includes 1/2 hour with photographer in one location and photo CD with 15 edited/toned images.
$250 includes 1 hour with photographer and up to 3 locations and a photo CD with 25 edited/toned images.
$350 includes 2 hours with photographer and up to 5 locations 40 edited/toned images.
How long does it take to get our pictures to us after the session?
The photos are ready within 14 days, a DVD/CD can take up to 3 weeks to arrive at your home.
Where do we take the pictures?
In the Black Hills area including Spearfish, Rapid City, Belle Fourche and surrounding areas of South Dakota. I also am able to travel to Gillette, Wyoming for photo sessions if requested for an additional $175 fee.
I can offer ideas or you can tell me a place you have in mind.
What if it rains….or we get sick…or you get sick??
Please call as soon as you can for illnesses and I will for weather related cancellations then we will reschedule for the next possible day.
What should we wear??
I recommend not wearing all white or all black as a group…details get lost with those two colors. Other solid colors work very well. Too wild of a print fabric does not work well.
I love to see the personality of the kids or family come out in the photos so wearing whatever your style is really the best. You want your pictures to reflect as much YOU as possible.?
Do you take pictures indoors?
No, most of my sessions take place outdoors in natural light…early morning or dusk is the ideal time.
Do you do weddings?
Yes! I enjoy capturing the perfect moments whether it’s a quaint wedding or big celebration of love! The cost usually runs from $650-$1,500.
